Download a one-page tracker in A4 or US Letter size with fixed columns for title, writer, date finished, personal score from 1 to 5, and short notes up to 200 characters. Leave at least 1.5 cm margins for hole punching and set row height to 1 cm to fit 25–30 entries per sheet. Use a clean sans-serif font at 11–12 pt for clear handwriting space.

How to Structure Your Reading Record Sheet

Divide the layout into clearly labeled sections to avoid clutter and make scanning fast.

  • Title – 6–8 cm width for long names
  • Author – 4–5 cm width
  • Date Completed – small field with DD/MM/YYYY format
  • Rating – numeric scale or five small stars
  • Notes – two lines for key ideas or quotes

Add a header with total works finished this month and a yearly goal counter such as 12, 24, or 50 items. This keeps progress visible without extra sheets.

Paper and Printing Settings for a Clean Result

Use 90–120 gsm paper to prevent ink bleed. Set printer to high-quality black ink, disable scaling, and select actual size to maintain column proportions. If binding into a binder, print double-sided with mirrored margins. For wall tracking, choose thicker 160 gsm stock and laminate for dry-erase markers.

Optional Additions

  1. Genre checkbox grid for fiction, non-fiction, biography, fantasy
  2. Source field such as library, purchase, gift
  3. Monthly summary section with total pages completed

Keep the design minimal with strong grid lines at 0.5 pt weight and avoid decorative elements that reduce writing space.

Create a single-sheet reading tracker with fixed columns for title, writer, completion date, score, and short remarks, formatted for A4 or US Letter with 2 cm margins and 30 rows per page. Use 11 pt Arial or Calibri and keep column widths proportional: 7 cm for title, 4 cm for author, 2.5 cm for date, 2 cm for rating, remaining space for notes.

Add a header section that includes a yearly target counter and a small table summarizing monthly totals. For example, include 12 small boxes labeled Jan–Dec to record how many works were finished each month. This allows quick tracking of progress without separate spreadsheets.

Choose 100 gsm paper to prevent ink transfer and set printer scaling to 100 percent to preserve alignment. If placing sheets in a binder, mirror inner margins by 0.5 cm for hole punching. For long-term storage, use acid-free paper and black pigment ink to reduce fading over time.

Optional fields may include genre tags, page count, and acquisition source such as library or purchase. Keep decorative elements minimal so there is enough blank space for handwritten comments up to 250 characters per entry.
